If you need a classic club with ratings and a schedule, the city has the Zudov Centre and a federation that raised a world champion - their addresses are collected further down this page. But if you just want to play some chess in the evening at a nice place, that's us. We run informal amateur chess tournaments for Nizhny Tagil: a bar or cafe, boards right on the tables, several opponents in one evening.
In summer you could set the pieces up right on the embankment of the Tagil Pond, but our version works year-round: warm, well-lit and with a living opponent already sitting across from you. The format has been road-tested in other cities, and now it's Nizhny Tagil's turn to try it.
